How is clock shaft length measured?
The post mounting hole of your clock dial (or mounting material) needs to have a large enough diameter to fit the shaft of the clock movement through it. The easiest and most accurate way to measure the shaft length on a clock movement is to use the depth gauge on a digital caliper.
What is clock dial thickness?
Dial thickness is the measurement of the material that the shaft of the clock motor is going through. Example you have a piece of material which is 8mm thick you would simply choose a 10mm dial thickness size as the 6mm dial thickness would be to small and the 10mm is suitable for sizes up to 10mm.
Are clock hands universal?
Lots of people think whatever clock hands they have will fit a new clock movement. This is not usually true. The mounting holes are not well standardized. So, if you already have the clock hands, you can just choose a similar length and style from us.
